This time, Bidzina
Ivanishvili, one of the well known Russian politician has scheduled his appointment
with President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili. This is because; Ivanishvili has
aimed towards Georgia Dream coalition for ensuring proper Parliamentary control
after previous watershed elections. This meeting is a positive approach for
establishing good and healthy relation between two countires after some of the
bitter political campaigns. Ivanishvili has expressed one constant movement of
Georgia towards Western countries. Bidzina Ivanishvili commented, “Both
Euro-Atlantic Space and Europe are actually the essences of our present
strategy and we will definitely observe continuation among the courses of
previous government.
In fact,
we will be very soon moving towards Europe and at the same time, Georgia will
become one of the members of NATO in the coming future.” However, reports have
revealed that Ivanishvili will give concern towards obtaining close corporation
with Russia. In addition, Sergei Lavrov, Foreign Minister of Russia has
expressed optimistic approach towards the meeting of Ivanishvili with president
of Georgia. Sergei Lavrov commented, “Currently, we are expecting for a new and
energetic Georgian government. We perceive that after this formation, we will
pursue some particular course for normalizing relations with almost each of our
neighbors, like Abkhazia and South Ossetia.”
