Shape Security--- which is founded by Ex-Googlr, the company which provided the firewall against automated malware and bots which change the shape of firewall depending on what ids trying to extent it. Firm got another $40 million funding from investors. This technology could also be applied on voice based gadgets. The Series C funding will be used to enhance the technology and to be ready to enter into Smartphone industry, which also be expand the global business venture. The fund comes from new investors Norwest Venture Partners and Sierra Ventures, with the help from Kleiner Perkins, Venrock, Google Venture, Eric Schmidt Tomorrow Ventures, and Allegis Capital. The total funding from these investor gives the boost about $66 Million to Shape Security.

Report published that “The problem, as Shape sees it, is this: every web app in the world has a user interface, but that interface effectively becomes an inherent point of vulnerability into a company’s network, with botnets created to effectively learn the code. What Shape does is send out code that effectively changes access to a web page. The solution, you can imagine, complements the sorts of defenses that are offered by other security companies — which white list and blacklist known threats, for example. As the price for botnets becomes increasingly cheap, and the cost of dealing with malware continues to rise, this seems to have resulted in a perfect storm for Shape.”

The company was founded by Sumit Agarwal with co-founders Derek Smith and Justin Call. Agarwal was one of the first Google mobile project manager and Assistant Deputy Secretary of Defense at Washington. Smith was the Former CEO of Oaklay Networks, Raytheon bought it. The company basically dealing with the cyber security threats with their technology called Real-Time-Polymorphism.

Snapchat Hired EX-Googler

Yesterday SnapChat announces that they brining Google App Engine director Peter Magnusson on boards as VP of Engineering. Recently, SnapChat receives lots of fuzz about online frauds going on with the app, but due to these incidents they need someone to fix the image in industry. With little investment in technology, the young company could add more security features into their software’s and chop off the potential security threats. Magnusson is latest technology person in industry and poached by so many other firms. Timothy Sehn, a former director of Amazon joined in and Facebook executive Emily white left company to be COO at SnapChat.
WSJ published a reportFor the record, the quote “Part of his new job at Snapchat will be building technology infrastructure in-house so that the company can begin to lessen its reliance on partners like Google, Murphy said.” is (a) not what Bobby said, (b) not really a focus of my job either. Thx WSJ for pissing off all my old Google friends. A more correct statement is that we’ll continuously evaluate alternatives, and likely over time develop more infrastructures ourselves, in particular in specialized areas of our apps. Google is a great partner, and the success of Snapchat would simply not have been possible without Google Cloud, and we expect to work closely together. Period

Security is the main concern for Snapchat because it already faced a huge data breached, which exposed million usernames and password of several customers. Firm apologizes and updated the app with new security parameters. Building a security team “will be a major priority for the company” said CTO of Corp. SnapChat is growing now but Company should hire more Engineers to build a new and good security team to prevent such huge data theft.
