Motorola Sold again from Google to Lenovo



Report is confirms that Lenovo a PC maker and call center software developer, buying Motorola Mobility from Google. This was the company that Google purchased in 2011 for $12.5B. Motorola will go to Lenovo again for $2.91 B. Of $2.91 B, almost $1.41 B will be paid for the close deal. $660 M will be conciliated of US cash and $750 M in  shares and the remaining $1.5 B will be paid for three year promissory memo.

Motorola was in one of the few companies, who works and put on emotion detection technology in the earlier Smart phone in 2008. As of the deal Google rests as owner of the major patent portfolio of the Motorola Mobility and firm will receive about 2000 patent asset and the brand with trademark. Reuters publisheda separate report that Lenovo will counsel by Credit Suisse Group meanwhile Lazard LTD counsel Google on the transactions.

Motorola’s CEO Dennis Woodside says “As part of Lenovo, Motorola Mobility will have a rapid path to achieving our goal of reaching the next 100 million people with the mobile Internet. With the recent launches of Moto X and Moto G, we have tremendous momentum right now and Lenovo’s hardware expertise and global reach will only help to accelerate this

As of Google, firm wants to dump the asset for a while and sold the Division for Tax reasons. Motorola Mobility performance was not good enough to make fair revenue and lost a huge part of it last year approx $248 M. Google already sold off Cable Box unit of Motorola for $2.4 B. This sought off comes just after few weeks when Internet Giant purchased hot hardware Nest. So Motorola going will make Nest the superstar hardware maker with lot of Apple’s engineers.
